The wine cellar of Domaine de Vernus

The wine cellar is located in the commune of Lantignié, 2 kilometres from the main house.

Barrel fermentation

Latest generation stainless steel vats have replaced the old tuns and concrete vats. With adjustable capacities thanks to their mobile cap, they allow the isolation of individual vintages. Thermo-regulated, they ensure the control of temperatures during the different phases of the wine-making process.

Maturation cellar

After the first fermentation and pressing, the wine quietly continues its transformation in the cellar. The wine is matured in Burgundy oak barrels with a mixture of origins and ages. A minimum of ten months in the cellar gives the wine time to soften, but also to gain in balance and complexity.

Wine ageing-cellar

The vaulted cellar of the main house has been completely renovated and redesigned. It allows to store in the best conditions large containers such as magnums and jjeroboams Bottles of each cuvée and each vintage are preciously preserved there, constituting a vinothèque of our exceptional cuvées with ageing potential.

Tasting space

Located between the vat room and the ageing cellar, this new space invites visitors to taste the wines of the estate, a place of exchange and friendship.
